New season, new style. I want to put away my dull winter clothes and brighten up my wardrobe with some spring staples. You may not feel ready for the spring fashion (storm Ciara is ruining our spring vibes), but there are lots of ways you can embrace the new season.

Lovely lilac
Lilac is definitely my colour of the season. ‘& Other Stories’ has this trend nailed. You cannot go wrong with a soft knit and this colour is stunning.

I recently bought this satin lilac skirt, half price, in ‘& Other Stories’ and my style sister Roz also wore it on ‘The Six O’Clock Show’!

Loungewear, lilac and Louise Cooney is a winning combination. What makes this even better, is that this trackie set is from sustainable fashion brand ‘Pangaia’.

A Staple Spring Dress
My favourite easy outfit is a simple dress that you can just “chuck on“ and this is exactly what Topshop have done. The dress comes with a matching scrunchie to top off the whole outfit. Love a little matchy matchy to make you feel like you’ve got your life together.

Polka Dots on the Catwalk
A recurring trend that’s all over the catwalks is polka dots. Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs are among some of the fashion designers to revive it for SS20. H&M have ran with this trend for spring and have so many looks in store now. I’m really excited to revisit this trend for spring.

The Trench
One staple that never goes out of fashion is the classic trench coat and I’m so excited to get mine out of the wardrobe for spring. I got mine in Zara about 3 years ago and it’s still as good as ever.

Stomp Around in Big Boots
Chunky boots will go with any outfit and are perfect for rainy spring days. I got these babies in Penneys, but my next big investment will be a pair of ‘Dr Martens’.

Colour Blocking
Sometimes it feels a bit silly to wear clashy colours but in my experience the risk always pays off. If you’re worried about going too far, start off small with accessories and then move on to full outfits. As a friend of mine once said to me, “Life’s too short for safe colour palettes!”.

I always look forward to the start of a new season, it’s a chance to reinvent yourself and take new risks when it comes to fashion. Keep an eye out for the new SS20 trends but don’t be afraid to be a trendsetter yourself.
